- Frau Sixta (Franziska Kinz) lives in the Austrian alps, near to the italian border and is head of a post station. After her man died she also has to take care of the farm. One day a stranger arrives with the stagecoach. Markus (Gustav Fröhlich) is a retired major, who wants to start a new life in Italy.
